Cute origami spider

I made this origami spider from the origami spider instructions you can find in the book Paper Capers: A First Book of Paper-Folding Fun by Steve and megumi Biddle (This book would be lots of fun for kids choose from fun masks, caterpillars, stars, boxes, animals and bugs to make, with ideas for decorating your origami crafts.)

This is a great little spider to make for kids. I made it from a large square sheet of black origami paper. Some cutting and gluing was required. The spider legs were made with a long sheet of paper, which needed cutting and gluing to the body of the spider. The spider body was very easy to make with only four quick steps, in total 9 steps were needed to fold this spider. There were four additional steps to make a paper thread to turn him into a wobbly spider but I thought he looked cute just the way he is. I used two little pink googly eyes, which I glued on. You could also draw, paint or add a few drops of glitter glue for the eyes. Makes for a fun halloween craft for kids and ideal for making halloween decorations. Just punch a hole at the top and attach a piece of string to make a spooky decoration you can hang around the house. You could also make lots of spiders in different colors or with some fun patterned paper to decorate banners, signs and posters.
